Even if you don't know alternative rock band Jimmy Eat World, you have heard the band's music. Their 2001 breakthrough hit "The Middle" is a classic--and it's played everywhere.
I got a chance to hang out with Jim and Tom from the band backstage at the Commodore Ballroom while they were in Vancouver touring their latest record, Integrity Blues--their ninth studio album. Integrity Blues is a little different in that the music was written after the band agreed to take a year away from the band.
How do Jim and Tom make the adorable story behind the band's name edgy?
How does Jimmy Eat World decide on set lists after putting out a new record? What did the band get up to over the year long break? What does the band have in common with how 80s metal band Warrant wrote "Cherry Pie"? What do Jim and Tom think about the latest study that says people stop listening to new music at age 33? Do Jim and Tom listen to new music--and what are they enjoying these days? Listen to find out!
