The original audience of the Book of Revelation were enduring massive persecution on two fronts. Tens of thousands of believers had already been martyred, and things were about to get a lot worse. Against this backdrop the Lord gives this Revelation to John to convey to the seven church of Asia Minor. This Revelation shows how different God’s perspective on world events is compared with ours.
