In 2004 he was appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary with accreditation in the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (today Republic of Northern Macedonia). In 2008 he became the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the European Union in Brussels and in 2009 he returned to Lithuania to work as Chief Consultant of Foreign Affairs to the Prime Minister.
In 2012 he was appointed Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and in 2017 to the Federal Republic of Germany where he still works today.
