Tracks and song composed, can’t recall if I started with a drum beat and went from there, but I wrote a little guitar riff with the damage and guitar that sounded a little like the beginning of the “Friends” theme song ... put effects on everything, usually a good reverb on the right tracks the right tracks for a delay effect get that treatment. I also will use mobile sound filtering apps and plugins - korg and moog both make exceptional apps to use for composition, and there are many others. I really like the “Ripplemaker” app... it’s like a Roland tb-03 but with a modular digital patch setup that simulates the real thing - you can get a great acid sound with that one too.
I share this venture into my creative process because A. I am curious if it changes the opinion of this song, other songs I’ve done
B. If anyone is using the same tools or methods to produce
C. If this could be helpful to any other artist out there looking to make electro and still write your melodies drums etc without using hardware. Hardware will give you the best sound by a mile, but most ears, even my own, has a hard time determining between what’s analog or not. What’s completely digital created on an iPad or using advance machinery with a production software like albelton or logic.
I don’t know if anyone reads these, but I value every listener that I have. You give me the drive to continue expressing myself through this medium and have opened up my world to an immense community of music makers and lovers of the same stuff as me.
