Brovember concludes with some mid-30s male ennui in the mid-90s, “Beautiful Girls”. Despite the stacked ensemble cast of Oscar winners and nominees, only Rosie O’Donnell gets to steal the show for a couple minutes while Uma Thurman, Mira Sorvino, Annabeth Gish, Lauren Holly and Martha Plimpton get to play girlfriends and love interests and Natalie Portman is the literal girl next door in a very uncomfortable subplot that truly signals our retreat from bro movies next month.
