Fearful was one of the first to release on AutomAte, debuting in the early days of the AutomAte Tech label with the monstrous Santura - the soundtrack to many London heads’ winter when it became the theme tune to The Drum And Bass Diaries documentary.
XIII shows a different side to Fearful. More laid back but every bit as brooding, stripped back but somehow just as hard-hitting. The maturity of both the concept and the execution belies the age of a young producer with a bright future ahead of him.
Ably accompanied by a trademark, slightly off-kilter percussion-led remix from Belgian duo Mtwn, and a dark, tearing groove-led rework from the mighty Raiden, this release rounds of Fearful and AutomAte’s year in style.
