Description

Christian Tetzlaff, born in Hamburg in 1966, began playing the violin at the age of six and quickly gained recognition for his prodigious talent. Tetzlaff has won numerous prestigious awards throughout his career, including the ECHO Klassik Award and the Gramophone Award. He is known for his close collaborations with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and Sir Simon Rattle. Tetzlaff is also a renowned chamber musician and regularly performs with acclaimed ensembles such as the Tetzlaff Quartet, which he co-founded with his sister, cellist Tanja Tetzlaff. Additionally, he is committed to contemporary music and has premiered works by leading composers such as György Ligeti and Jörg Widmann.
