(MUSICIAN) Giora Feidman is a world-renowned clarinetist born 1936, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hailing from a family of klezmer musicians, his parents had immigrated from Bessarabia to escape persecution. Giora began his career with the Teatro Colón Symphony Orchestra in Buenos Aires, later becoming the youngest clarinetist ever to join the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In the early 1970s, he embarked on a prolific solo career, performing with prestigious ensembles like the Berliner Symphoniker and the Kronos Quartet. Notably, he played the clarinet solos for the acclaimed "Schindler's List" soundtrack, contributing to its seven Academy Awards. Beyond performance, Giora founded the "Clarinet and Klezmer in the Galilee" program in Safed, Israel, preserving and sharing the traditions of klezmer music for future generations. His life story is a testament to the enduring power of music and cultural heritage, uniting people worldwide through the universal language of melody and emotion.
