In this episode, we reflect on our recent reports into oral health in care homes. We published 'Smiling matters: oral health care in care homes' in 2019, and followed up with a progress report in 2023. Reflecting on the findings of the reports, our guests discuss the importance of oral health; explore ways to improve the experience for people living in care homes; and talk through ways of creating better connections between dental professionals, commissioners, and care homes.
Dr David Shiers, a guest in this episode, is an expert advisor to the NICE centre for guidelines and views expressed are personal and not those of NICE.
