Description

Ready for the first earworm of 2021? May we suggest a good ol' fashioned Sea Shanty to accompany your rum in the dead of winter? Gotta love Nathan Evans who posted it on Tik Tok. It has taken on a life of it's own.

A Sea Shanty is described as " “a song with alternating solo and chorus, of a kind originally sung by sailors while performing physical labor together.” Crews would participate in a call-and-response-like chorus while out on the open seas that evolved into drinking songs and folklore as time passed."

All about that life.

Sing a long... Here is the chorus.

"Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguin’ is done
We’ll take our leave and go"
