Description

In 2018 James Harding founded Tortoise, the largest journalism project ever to be launched on Kickstarter. Even though he'd had an impressive career as Editor of The Times and Director of BBC News, it was by no means certain to be a success. His hunch that it was time for a different type of newsroom, one designed for slower and wiser news, paid off with thousands lending their support. IN this episode, James talks to us about working for Rupert Murdoch and the BBC, the challenge of launching a new media offering and what impact the pandemic is having on journalism.
