This week, Gavin and I are FINALLY tackling our first Bollywood picture, the 2016 action/martial arts epic- Baaghi. Starring the insanely talented Tiger Shroff, this film is an amalgamation of both Bollywood and Hong Kong cinema, giving us a modern day ‘gongfupian’ in the least expected place. Switching out Chinese martial arts with the ancient Indian fighting art of Kalaripayattu, the rest of the movie borrows many classic elements of the traditional Kung Fu flick, while simultaneously paying homage and making references to international martial arts cinema from around the world. Finding inspiration from Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and even the Karate Kid, the film manages to put its own special touch on the genre through its blending of musical sequences, romantic comedy, and hard-hitting, bone-crushing action! This is thanks mostly to the out of this world abilities of lead Tiger Shroff, whose kicks must be seen to be believed! Listen in as we dissect this over-the-top action extravaganza, share what we liked about it, and why you should give it a chance! Don’t forget to subscribe, download, and share with your friends! Thanks again for the continued support and we hope you enjoy!
