December 2014’s “Consensus Must” EP marks a highlight in a release portfolio with Proton Music, supplemented by remixes of DNYO, Scotty.A and Erdi Irmak, as we welcome back Lonya for a sublime rework of James Monro. Taking the chunky, full-blooded groove of the original, subtle wave-like textures gently throb in rhythmic syncopation as a stepped percussive riff cuts through the atmosphere. Evolving effortlessly a delicious riff reveals itself to provide an aural hook that locks into the subconscious with vice like grip. A warm, deep bass groove adds further to illustrate Lonya’s impressive talent.
