Jesse is the Global Coordinator for anticipatory actions within the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Programmes at the United Nations World Food Programme. He is managing the implementation and scale-up of Forecast-based Financing across many Asian & African nations alongside their national governments. He also works closely with the WFP's Emergency Preparedness and Support Response Division to help manage severe-weather risk assessments on vulnerable populations. Jesse has over 11 years of weather-forecasting & project management experience in the humanitarian & private sector, with a focus on early warnings, probabilistic risk assessment, and weather information communication. His UBC Master's Thesis and coursework focused on numerical weather-prediction, ensemble weather-prediction systems, statistical analysis/verification, computer science, GIS, energy policy and weather forecasting.
