In all four corners of the world, there is so much importance given to Diwali. In India - our Bharat - Diwali is celebrate with so much happiness.
From Diwali there are four aspects we can benefit from, that we can see, know, learn and bring into our life.
Diwali is celebrated in the story of the Ramayan, when Ravan was destroyed and then the joyous celebration of Diwali was born.
Ravan is the five vices - five vices of the male and five vices of the female. Both together are called the ten heads of Ravan.
In order to destroy Ravan, first there is the worship of the goddesses (shaktis) during Navratri. Then there is the invoking of power from the Supreme Soul into us.
At Diwali, just as a new account of books are started and new ones are finished, let that which is old, bad and weak in my karmic accounts also finish. Because the very new Diwali has come. A new world is coming - a world representing the kingdom once described as that of Lakshmi and Narayan. So for that, let us celebrate ‘Deepawali’ - the Festival of Lights.
