Steve interviews Joe Posnanski (00:09:20) the host of the PosCast, author of books, and writer on Substack. Joe joins us to talk about the success of his last book, The Baseball 100 and explains why writing the football version of it has been problematic and discusses how he plans to fix those problems. Joe also talks about walking away from his life long passion for the Cleveland Browns and previews his journey towards finding a new favorite team. Joe and Steve also talk about the AL MVP race, Joe's fantastic assistant, and his upcoming trip to Soldier Field.

Also on the show is, Fred Segal (00:58:20) the creator of the Freezing Cold Takes twitter account and the author of a new book about the coldest takes in the history of the NFL. Fred talks about why he decided to turn his twitter page into a book, explains what he avoids on twitter and why, and talks about his ideas for a follow up to his book.

Steve and Paula start the show with some discussion about her first couple days of school but Paula appears to be all hopped up on Mountain Dew. The book club closes out our summer reading and announces the first book for the fall. The show ends with one last thing featuring Steve's predictions for the upcoming NFL season including several takes that are sure to be freezing before Halloween.
