Theus Mago is the alter ego of established Mexican producer Mateo González, a project created to indulge in his more obscure coldwave and techno side. González is very active, and alongside the Theus Mago project, he is also the man behind dance music projects Bufi (Kitsuné/Discotexas) and Sonido Fantasma (Turbo Recordings), alongside his duties as co-owner of the Duro record label.
Since his 2015 track ‘Ritmo Extraterrestre’, released on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant Records, Mago has had a constant streak of stable releases on tastemaker labels around the globe including Lumiere Noire, Turbo Recordings, La Dame Noire and Ombra International. His tracks have caught the attention of big league names like Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, &ME and Solomon. With a forthcoming release later this year on Optimo Records, you can expect the Theus Mago sound to reach even more global players.
