The New Testament theologian NT Wright refers to the crucifixion as “the day the revolution began,” and this is a perfect way of describing the movement we are now a part of. According to the New Testament authors, something profound and reality-changing took place when Christ defeated the powers of this world on the cross. His victory and authority was proven by his resurrection from the dead, and ushered in a revolution of which we are all still participating.
In this message, we will explore our own role in ushering our world toward the resurrected Christ and his New Creation. We’ll look at how we become one with Christ, sharing in his death and resurrection, and how we can “press on” to experience his mighty power and let him transform our broken world through us in the process.
Our hope this Easter is that we will all come away with a renewed sense of awe when we consider God’s power at work as well as a deeper conviction to give our lives even more passionately to the work of declaring and ushering in God’s New Creation.
