Hebrews 3:12-13; 10:19-25 - To conclude our series on the mutuality commands, we consider two final commands which speak to the fact that the believers in Jesus are meant to be active participants in the spiritual lives of one another. Following Jesus can be incredibly difficult, but He has not left us to follow Him alone. Among other helps, He has given us a family of brothers and sisters to aid us on the challenging road of discipleship. And the key to receiving this help and the rest of the blessings of the family of God is found in two words: "daily" and "together." Fighting for regular intimacy with one another is the foundation from which everything else flows. Daily, together, may we love one another. A sermon by Cameron Heger. Questions for reflection: 1) Can you think of a time where you've been "exhorted" or "stirred up" by a friend to follow Jesus more closely? What was that experience like? 2) Hebrews 3 assumes that believers will be temped to drift away from Jesus for various reasons. What are some areas of struggle, doubt, or temptation in your own life? 3) Why is regular, intimate fellowship key to actually being able to live out all that we've been considering these past 7 weeks? 4) How does Jesus's great command to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind... and Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mt. 22:37, 39) intersect with the mutuality commands? 5) What are some things a local church can provide that online content can't? And vice versa?
