Jonah 1:1-16 - The book of the prophet Jonah is in equal parts funny and tragic, illuminating and strange. Our superficial familiarity with it can keep us from recognize the profound, cutting teaching it contains. At its heart, it's a story about God's complex love for a dangerous, cruel city and his prophet's refusal to share that love. In the first chapter, we are introduced to Jonah--this rebellious prophet--and the consequences of his refusal to be God's vehicle for God's message. A sermon by Cameron Heger.
