For starters the property should have a sign in the front yard, agents should be able to answer all the questions, applications should be super simple and shouldn’t ask for infos such as income and employment verification. Think twice if the person you are talking to is very eager to get a deposit, if you never meet them, the property is very cheap, and the deal is too good to be true. Always do your due diligence. Cross reference or google it. Call the agent and ask, deal with a licensed professional, look at the tax record and meet the person in the house.
