Everybody is looking for a licensed and bonded contractor everytime we buy a house and we make a list of maintenance and repairs that we expect from the seller. Michael Goodman explained who should or could be licensed in what. There are trade specific licensing in the state of Oklahoma, a general contractor, a homebuilder a very generic title there is no specific licensing for him to do business in the state of Oklahoma. And to simplify things, basically if it requires a permit it typically requires somebody licensed. A flooring guy, a drywall guy, a painter, a handyman that is doing wood repair outside of your house, a siding guy, a guy that changes windows that does not require a license. And regarding a roofing license there are two types of it, a generic which covers everything on the residential side and commercial endorsement for contractors which do big commercial works. If you are going to find a realtor, it should have commercial training and a good license for those kinds of realtor can give you a huge skill set and memberships and marketing benefits that they can offer to you.
