Steve Currington of Guaranteed Rate talks about VA loans and what products they offer for Veterans. Most lenders charge Veterans for a VA loan for an amount of about $900 upto $1500 just for underwriting processing fees or what they call lender fee and they can also charge upto about 1 percent origination fee. At Guaranteed Rate they do also have a lender fee and it is flat for $1290 for all types of loan but it is waived in a VA loan. Which means for a VA loan there will be no more lender fee, you will still have a closing cost but it will be so much less that you won't pay for a lender fee anymore.
