There is something unclear in regards to what we are supposed to be doing these days, specifically this week, of Tisha B’Av.
Are we supposed to cry endlessly over something that already happened? Even in the laws of mourning, our sages of blessed memory instructed us that the time of mourning is limited.
So how is it that we are crying for 2000 years? What help is it if we cry? Can we technically change something that already happened?
Of course, we all want the third temple, but what is the connection to the element of crying?
