Description

Psalm 109 is a prayer of retribution and deliverance. According to the superscription is a psalm of David and written for the choir director to be sung in worship. A cursory reading of this psalm is startling in an age of tolerance and moral relativism. A major portion of this psalm is a prayer for retribution against those who have committed evil against someone. How does such a prayer square with Jesus’ admonition to love our enemies and prayer for those who despitefully use us?
