As Jesus’ authority over discipleship come into view in Matthew 8:18-22, two tests are presented. Talk is cheap and anyone can claim to want to be a disciple or even claim to be a disciple. Jesus however, uses His authority to test the genuine of one’s claims. He tests the genuineness of one’s discipleship with test of sincerity and a test of priorities. Jesus has the authority to test discipleship.
