In Matthew 24:4-28, Jesus laid out the signs marking the final seven years of the times of the Gentiles, the Tribulation. The Tribulation’s first three and one-half years are revealed in verses four through fourteen. Verses sixteen through twenty-eight reveal the Tribulation’s second three and one-half years. A critical event between the Tribulation’s halves is known as the abomination of desolation, as revealed in verse fifteen. The abomination of desolation is as much a who as a what. Hence in Matthew 24:15, consideration will be given to the character behind and the character of the abomination of desolation.
