Sadly, when a fellow believer strays, many either ignore the sin or ignore the believer. Neither reaction is Biblical. Instead, believers must pursue them in order to restore them! No excuse is to be made. How do believers undertake this rescue ministry? The rescue ministry can be summed up in one word — discipline. Hence, Jesus sets forth discipline as the fourth Kingdom value to be embraced. It is valuable because it is the method for rescuing straying believers. Thus, in Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus provides the plan and prerogative for discipline.
