The potential judgment of the Lake of Fire should cause every believer to embrace the value of guarding against sin by removing the causes of sin in their own lives and doing nothing to entice others to sin. However, simply guarding against sin is not enough. Instead of looking down on fellow believers who are ensnared in sin, believers must pursue them. Hence, Jesus presents in Matthew 18:10-14 the third value to be recovered and embraced by Kingdom citizens, the value of pursing the lost.
