This mix moves through deep house, progressive house, melodic breaks, and electronic grooves, weaving together tracks that balance dancefloor energy with introspective textures. It marks the start of a new direction for me - I’ll be using this slot to explore more experimental and progressive sounds, pushing beyond the club-focused sets I’ve shared before.
I’ve been drawn to producers recently who aren’t afraid to be bold, maximalist, or a little unusual and a standout inclusion is a track called ‘Inner Elation’ by a producer named ‘Aldonna’. She is fast becoming one of my favourite producers and I’m truly in awe of how great she is at crafting maximalist, layered productions that somehow still feel spacious and emotionally charged. Her sound has hugely inspired the mood and direction of this mix.
I wanted this to feel like a sonic journey, where tracks build and dissolve into one another, creating moments of both euphoria and introspection. Alongside Aldonna, you’ll hear music from Fantastic Man, Guy Contact, Burnski, Adam Pits, and Everything But The Girl’s classic Missing reworked beautifully by Liam Smith.
I also paired this mix with a visual project: a painting I am doing of a woman searching for records on her shelves, which unfolds over the duration of the video (which you can watch on YouTube).
