Oxford’s Simple family continue their monthly show on Voices featuring residents and special guests. This month Captive State brings us a mix in support of his new self-released EP, ‘Inner Space’ which dropped this week.
Captive State is a Brighton based DJ Producer, with a deep, lifelong obsession with electronic music and rave culture. He honed his skills on the decks in Oxford whilst at university there, playing a mix of breaks, tech and progressive beats at nights like Slide at the Zodiac. Now residing on the south coast, he produces ethereal, progressive music in a studio with a sea view, occasionally travelling back to Oxford to DJ for Simple club nights.
A staple of Oxford’s nightlife for the past 26 years, Simple continues to throw parties with some of the best DJs on the global circuit as well as local homegrown talent. They’re racing through their Autumn/Winter season of events, recent highlights include Neffa T, Surusinghe, Sexy Lady Massive and with 4am Kru, Bakey, Dogshow and more before the year is out, they’re standing firm at the forefront of the scene.
