Takaya Nagase is a New York based Japanese DJ. He is known as one of the parents of New York's legendary JOY party at Decatur Audio Laboratory.
Takaya’s musical style doesn' t neatly fit into one genre. He plays with with all kinds of music - house, disco, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, dub, techno, ambient, electronica, rock, african, and latin music are among his favorites. His style is free, flexible, and original, but most of all fun.
A&R rep for Soundmen on Wax Records and worldwide rep for Alpha Recording Systems, Takaya currently works as Grammy award winner Louie Vega's exclusive sound technician.
Many have recognized him as one of the wisest sound senseis.
