Description

Brooklyn rap veteran, Shabaam Sahdeeq, is pleased to unveil his latest effort, 'Modern Artillery,' a seven track EP which serves as the inaugural release from the Swedish/Dutch-based Hip-Hop consortium, Elite Fleet Records.

As part of Rawkus Records' dream team roster, which included label-mates Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Company Flow and Pharoahe Monch, among others, Shabaam was part of Hip-Hop's most influential independent rise of the mid-to-late '90s. A founding member of DJ Spinna's Polyrhythm Addicts, Sahdeeq found a career resurgence in the mid 2000's with the release of the group's sophomore LP, 'Break Glass.' Over the next several years, Shabaam would go onto release quite a few independently launched projects through various labels, including his own Marvial Entertainment imprint, all of which led up to his most acclaimed solo effort to date, 'Keepers of the Lost Art,' which was released in april of 2014, via Below System Records.

On the heels of the release of Lost Art, the '5 Star General' emcee has joined forces with Elite Fleet Records for the release of, 'Modern Artillery,' a seven track EP, produced entirely by the Dutch-based beatsmith, Big Ape. Ape's bouncy, basement style production is well suited for Shabaam's precise rhyme schemes, that are complimented with the handy work Elite Fleet's own, DJ Devastate. Featured on the EP are Outerspace, Ruste juxx, Reef the Lost Cauze, Torae, 8thW1, and the late PH (Pumpkin Head). Set for an October 13th release date, where the album will become available for download through all major digital retailers, 'Modern Artillery' will also be available on cassette in limited quantity as part of Cassette Store Day, 2015 (Oct. 17), as well as a limited quantity vinyl pressing (release date: tbd).
