New York rap tag-team Rome Clientel and DJ Concept are back with another ill preview of their upcoming 'The Ambition EP,' in the form of “Life is Good.” It’s a feel-good burner featuring raw guest verses from actor-turned-rapper, Rick Gonzalez (Coach Carter) and Sacramento, Cali spitter, Chuuwee.
Just as they did on previous single “Panoramic,” the duo and their guests throw a new coat of paint to a rap staple on here. While that track flipped a familiar sample from a certain Wu-Tang chef, “Life is Good” arrives with a nod to Biz Markie classic “The Vapors” on the hook: “Damn it feels good to see people up on it.” Indeed, and it also feels good to hear that line again, particularly over such sublime, strings-laden production from DJ Concept.
