Budding producer BETT (@bettbettmus) brings the dancefloor heat for his U Dance EP, the third release on Presha Records(@presharecords). Having formerly dabbled in producing breaks, BETT has found his home in crafting weird, wonky, upbeat and ultimately downright good fun house cuts, as showcased on this four- track release.
‘I feel that Dance Mania-esque jarring percussion and aggressive vocal cuts are what gets everyone moving, so I try to distill that in my more party orientated tunes. I found influence in the old hip house TV show U Dance which was sort of like soul train, they just played fun tracks and kept everyone moving. I’m also heavily influenced by the hard trax from the 90s and wanted to emulate that utilising the benefits of modern production. I wanted to make music for parties and music that is unashamedly fun.’
Title track U Dance is a straight up party starter. Punchy, percussive and unashamedly fun, inspired by the sounds of labels such as Ultramajic and Unknown to The Unknown. The stomping groove, ghetto house inspired vocal cuts, sleazy sax stabs and chunky piano chord stabs all come together to create a sure fire dancefloor heater.
