After a brief hiatus, Off-Switch Audio are back with an EP from Eindhoven based, Bournemouth born, Swansea raised DJ/producer FKA.SAKA. Already gaining support from the likes of FFF and Noisia, FKA.SAKA is a definite name to watch and Off-Switch are honoured to be debuting their first full-length release!
As a fitting continuum to the deconstructed jungle vibes in Anger, Once Again slows the tempo all the way down to 140 without loosing a single increment of energy. With a similarly angsty use of distortion and heavy-hitting breakbeat chops; FKA.SAKA affirms their distinctly powerful sonic identity with this one.
Finally, with Druid on remix duties, the EP closes off with a slightly-less-angsty electro-infused flip of Anger. Druid’s zappy electronic percussion slaps through the sustained remanence of FKA.SAKA’s original composition, laced into a pleasant backdrop of pads and analogue static FX. In an impressive crescendo, the track morphs into a robotic 4 x 4 drum pattern bouncing explosively off donk-i-fied bass hits and shimmering vocal chops.
The release is topped off with some fitting graphics from 3D artist Ori; as-usual bringing together the label’s eclectic catalogue of releases with her visually consistent aesthetics.
