Basilica’s fourth submission comes courtesy of one it’s earliest roster holders, the newest sculptor of the both historic and ever changing ‘Bristol Bass’ sound - Kahter.
Kahters sound has always been a juxtaposition between spacious subtlety combined and contrasted with huge drum presence and swollen bass. Making his early debuts on labels such as Glome Sound, Manuka, Circular Jaw and, most recently, his enormous Swamp 81 debut release, Kahter has consistently released club based beats that cut through a mix with laser precision.
The Polaris EP explores the heavier hitting side of Kahters production, with huge and heavy impacting basses and kicks, a barrage of razor sharp hats and lasers brought together under a rolling bop of distant and textured ambiences and pads.
