The fifth artist focused EP from Presha Records comes courtesy of Lifestyle Division, with his debut release. A keen record collector and hardware lover, this shines through on this lo-fi, acid influenced EP.
“I listen to a whole lot of dance music across a pretty broad spectrum, and I think this is reflected in the varied nature of the EP. When I was making Prim, and especially when I was making Okk, I wasn't really focused on trying to make tracks that would be club bangers, more just playing around with some hardware, with a particular sound in my head, influenced by labels such as Acido, SUED, and L.I.E.S. As for Hotline, that one was basically just me going all out and trying to make something raw and heavy.”
The EP closes with Caven’s remix of Okk. Remaining faithful to the original by keeping the warm spacey pads, Caven puts his own spin on proceedings with a bongo driven, downtempo house groove and a more prominent bassline.
