Listen to a presentation by Carolyn Driedger, Outreach Coordinator, USGS, Cascade Volcano Observatory as she talks about her personal experience on the day before, during and after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens on May 18, 1980. She will also describe the role of USGS in protecting residents who live near any volcanic centers followed by a description of USGS's international role. Her presentation is personal, witty, engaging and very enlightening. I want to thank the leadership of the Willamette View Public Affairs Committee for allowing me to organize this event and for Carolyn Driedger for encouraging this public information to reach more people.
