On Tuesday, commissioners voted 2-1 on a resolution that would allow them to defund the county’s Dominion-based vote tabulation machines. The decision came after a group of citizens presented “election integrity concerns” in Rio Blanco County.
Their arguments were parried by the county attorney, Clerk and Recorder Boots Campbell and other current and former election officials and election judges.
Commissioners approved the measure 2 to 1. Next, it will go to a public hearing before a final decision is made.
As things currently stand, the secretary of state has warned the BOCC that removing dominion voting systems will put the county out of compliance with the Americans With Disabilities act.
