This song was written as a personal request, by a mother suffering from a malignant pancreatic tumor...to her 15 year old son. She contacted us online, saying she didn't have much money, but could we write a song that she could leave to her son, and she would pay to the best of her ability. Obviously, we didn't charge anything, and wrote the song as quickly as possible, as she had been declining in health. Her malignancy was contained within the tumor, but the tumor was rapidly increasing in size. A very risky situation.
I am a mother, and no mother could refuse such a request from another mother. The lyrics were written from emails between Karen and I, her fondest memories of her son's childhood, her concerns for his future, and most of all, that her love for him will always be there. No matter what happens, love is what is TRUE.
