Wire fraud is criminals try to steal your money that you are going to be sending to either a title company or maybe purchasing a car any types of large purchases. They insert themselves into a real estate transaction by monitoring emails and they are probably sitting in your emails and have been there for a while because of a virus you might have that you didn’t know about on your computer or your passwords have been jeopardized or what ever the case might be. What they are trying to do is to redirect the wire transfer and you are supposed to send it their bank account. They do that by sending or having you believe that you’re sending the money to the right place and you are not you are sending it directly to them. With wire fraud you initiated the wire and you are the one that sent it to the wrong place and escrow companies have seen it multiple times in this industry there will be time when they can get the money back and times when the money is long gone.
