Today we're excited to announce our new, ongoing singles series, entitled "Parallel Voices". The series, hand curated by slowya.roll, seeks to invite listeners on a journey through forward thinking fusion, broken beat, experimental jazz - really, anything that grooves. We'll roll out the series over the next few months, concluding with a limited edition vinyl run, with all artwork for the series by Italian designer nocivo_hq , evoking surreal, retro aesthetics sure to inspire. We've got some amazing music lined up, keep those ears open.
Coming in first is none other than multi-instrumentalist 10.4rog with a burning new track titled "Side-Scroll Demo Disk", an ode to funk, up-tempo video game music, broken beat and childhood nostalgia. An off-kilter, odd time signature groove anchored by angular, tasteful chord changes and complex rhythmic elements, the three minute single is propelled by a whining-yet-catchy synth lead melody, a must listen for fans of Kaidi Tatham and the London breakbeat scene.
If you don't yet know 10.4 ROG, now's the time to get familiar. He's been steadily honing his craft over the past few years, whether he's producing for acclaimed artists like demaemae (touching_bass) or _osun, releasing his own highly sought after beat tapes, or concocting a potent mix of psych R&B with his duo Figmore (with juicebox) via fresh selects label. This latest single only adds to his versatillity as a musician, and we're incredibly excited for whatever else he's got in store.
