The corruption of authority ripples through the veins of society, poisoning the foundation with greed and self-interest. But that doesn’t mean that the system cannot be healed. We all have a unique and distinct voice which can be used to raise up one another in the name of peace and love, while fighting against the long-running oppressive forces that wreck havoc and have taken so many lives. Our actions are our own. We must take action together and fight with whatever resources we have. This is a movement, not a moment.
Reptile Government was produced by Canadian beat maker, Vienna. Like all beat makers in our field, the underlying influences of Black music are integral to the rhythms, grooves, and structure of Vienna’s music. We must be held accountable in our community to honour these influences and stand with the Black community. We must use our position to share anti-racism resources and continue to produce music that makes us vibe. Ultimately providing the community with hope.
