We talked with Angus Thuermer from Wyofile about the avalanche exploders operated by WYDOT above two highways in Teton County. They can be activated remotely without putting workers in danger and allow snow to be safely removed if triggered. Unlike the large exploders on Glory Bowl above Teton Pass, the new O’Bellx exploders in Hoback Canyon can be removed, serviced, and replaced by helicopter.
