Dan and Aaron open the podcast with something we can both gush about for hours: "The Young Ones"! A 12-episode comedy from the early 80s, it exploded the possibilities of television and helped a generation of British comic actors get deservedly famous. There's a great DVD set that includes both seasons as well as episodes of "Bottom" and "Filthy, Rich, and Catflap" and a making-of documentary.
NOTES / DON'T @ US:
- We didn't know until after recording this that Mayall is pronounced "Mail" and not "May-all". Rest assured, we know now and are flagellating ourselves appropriately.
- We mention Ade and Nigel's play, "Vulcan-7" and hope we can see it, but they did it in 2018 and it's not likely to be available.
- Jennifer Saunders' character on "Absolutely Fabulous" (which you love, right?) is Edina, not Edna, Monsoon. Dan's mouth was going faster than his brain.
