1st December - In this week’s Monaco Update, the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women's Rights presented its new campaign for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at the Maison du numérique.

One of the themes of this year’s campaign is violence against women and girls through digital technology. To raise awareness a manga was used accompanied by a visual with an explicit slogan: "Violence hits just as hard from behind the screen as it does in front of it”. The key message of the campaign is to recognise digital violence before it escalates. The manga is available in print and digital versions on the Committee's website.

The Monaco Christmas Village will this year be based on the theme of "Rainier III, Passionate Prince". The village is located on the port from Thursday 7 December until January 7th.

Numerous decorations in tribute to Prince Rainier III and to his many passions will be installed on Quai Albert Ier: the arts, motorsport, animals and the sea. As always, the Christmas Village will enchant young and old alike! 7 rides including the Ferris wheel and the toboggan run, the Christmas tree merry-go-round as well as three new attractions will be part of this year’s village. 24 chalets with gift ideas and 19 food stands to delight everyone's taste buds open every day from 11am.

In terms of entertainment: enchanted parades, live concerts and stage shows will be part of the Christmas Village as well as creative workshops for children from 6 years old every weekend from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. in the animation chalet.
