What is the truth about prayer? Is it a placebo, which translates as the power of the mind of the person prayed for? Or, does it carry divine powers? In preparation I did a search on medical research on the healing power of prayer, not just for the person praying, but even prayers for a third party who was not aware of the prayers being offered on his behalf. The research has conflicting outcomes.
Well, I guess that this is the most that a rabbi could ask for from a field which has attacked anything spiritual, all the more anything religious for centuries.
This lecture isn’t going to take a medical approach, but a mystical approach in a practical manner.
This lecture is based upon a maamor delivered by the Rebbe in 1965, exploring the power of prayers.
