How To Attract Success
~Understanding beyond the fear of success
Matina Souretis Horner (born July 28, 1939) is an American psychologist who was the sixth president of Radcliffe College. She is most well-known for pioneering the concept of "fear of success." Many others in the field have discussed this paralyzing fear as well. The book, Fear of Success by David Ward Tresemer, D.W. is dedicated to it. Fear of Success is also inspired by a model of David McClelland et.al (1953) on achievement motivation (nAch), Susanne Babbel, Ph.D., M.F.T., author of Somatic Psychology, discusses it. This fear is being found to be a cause of failure, pain, and frustration for more and more people in our generation.
In 1965 the Rebbe revealed to us that Jacob had this fear, and it is this fear that manifested itself expressively through Jacob’s famous dream of the ladder. In this dream, Jacob also receives direction from G-d on how to get beyond his fear. This is what we will be exploring in our present lecture.
We will also be exploring why there was a harlot in the palace, and what is the Jewish belief of the Satan.
