Over the next two Sundays we’ll be delving into Luke chapter 1, looking at the first ‘songs of Christmas’ in the amazing stories of Elizabeth, Mary and Zechariah. The best Christmas songs are all about the Lord Jesus, the long-promised Saviour. The story of his coming is at the centre of all our stories, where all our longings and fears find their rest in him and his saving work. You’re invited to come to him and rejoice - to receive God’s mercy, forgiveness and love found only in his Son! The light of the world has come, and darkness can never defeat it (John 1:4-5).
This Sunday we look at Elizabeth and Mary's songs and consider the JOY OF EVERY LONGING HEART [1 Samuel 2:1-10, Luke 1:39-56]
